OTZI THE ICEMAN
By Kenneth Bloomfield

GENRE: Action, Adventure, Historical
LOGLINE: Given the name “Otzi the Iceman,” in September 1991 a well preserved Mummy was found in the Ötztal Alps. Pathologists have deduced that he died from an arrow that cut an artery in his shoulder. How it happened they can only guess. My story attempts to imagine a little of his life on the mountains (his family, friends, lovers and enemies) and make an educated guess on how he came to suffer his fatal wound

SYNOPSIS:

The story is based on an actual discovery of a mummified body near the Similaun Mountain and Hauslabjoch on the border between Austria and Italy. He is Europe's oldest natural human mummy (3255b.c.) and has offered an unprecedented view of Chalcolithic Europeans. My story charts his life from his early capture by a competing tribe, when little more than a baby, through his childhood and adolescence. The meeting and falling in love with his wife. The battles for survival that ensued throughout his adult life and the treachery that led to his ultimate death. This death in a manner that agrees with the findings of today's pathologists.
