About Andy

Specialised in digital sound technology whilst completing a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University in 1978.
Designed broadcast equipment for BBC Studio Capital Projects dept in London, then worked for Tyne Tees Television in vision control and videotape operations on all programmes from music programmes such as “The Tube” to major sports broadcasts such as international athletics and premiere league football.
In 1988 formed The Audiofile Company. using one of the first AMS Audiofiles in the country as sound designer/dubbing editor/mixer on projects such as “Byker Grove”
In 1990 set up C.M.S.I, providing electronic design, maintenance and installation
services to the region's studios, as well as location recording.
Produces and records electronic music, which has become the future of music.
In 1996 became chief engineer of a state of the art training and corporate facility - Stonehills Studios – after designing and building much of it.
From 1996 was Dubbing editor/Dubbing Mixer for IMAGINE post production and worked on many regional and national video, broadcast and film productions. Such as “Dog Soldiers”
Currently a freelance sound engineer in both location recording and audio post production working on multimedia and film productions such as 24 25 Films – “Bloodless”
Has given lectures and practical sessions and worked as a mentor helping young people make short films, for organizations such as First Light, University of Northumbria, Bradford Co-operative young peoples film festival, Media Box, Digital Voice, and the award winning Beacon Hill Film Project.
A recordist, electronic engineer, and musician as well as sound designer, a unique insight and overview of the world of sound, and its creative and positive possibilities.
Awarded RTS North East & Border professional excellence – Audio award 2010 for work on horror feature “Rising Tide”, music video “ain’t no fun” for Teeny Tiny Films, and recording and post production sound for Tall Tree Films “Bait Room”
Awarded RTS North East & Border professional excellence – Post Production award 2011 for sound design on horror feature “Bloodless”, Drama “Compulsion” and experimental film “Invertebrate”.
