SYNOPSIS:

A Jimmy-Stewart-like man, Randy, is going to the theater tonight, and he accidentally meets a much richer politician-lawyer, Alex, as they both buy roses for the ladies they are waiting to meet outside the theater. The simpler man buys the rose that the richer man wanted. They meet their ladies and go inside, where the simpler man and his date, Lana, get poor seats to watch the comedy about male philandering. It turns out that Lana has had a previous affair with Alex, but only because of a weakness for his money. Randy loves and woos Lana without success, as numerous classic-style songs about the situation are interspersed. Despairing, Randy goes to teach child psychology at a toy company. One of the girls working there is actually a new high-tech doll who very much wants to become human. Alex learns about her and arranges to buy her, much to Randy's concern. The doll loves Randy, though. At a special holiday in January, she immerses herself in the icy river and is baptized, thus becoming human. Now. Randy fights in court to protect her from being sold. Lana keeps in touch with Randy, and when she learns of his altruism, finally falls in love with him, repenting of her former materialism. Alex begs forgiveness from all, proposes normally to the doll, and finally we have a double wedding of the four, on Christmas Day.
