About Ken

Ken Maurice hails from the Eastern Shore of Maryland as a singer, songwriter, actor, writer, and director. Though born in the small city of Salisbury, MD, Ken has taken his talents, to new heights.

In 2001, Ken attended Wicomico High School. During his High School years, Ken participated in many plays, musicals and revues; from ones like Les Miserables portraying Thenardier, Into the Woods portraying Jack, and even taking on the role of Michael Jackson in a Motown Revue. One of the toughest challenges then, yet rewarding was portraying the character of Oswald in William Shakespeare's King Lear. The Production was taken to Folger's Theatre, at the Folger's Shakespeare Library, in Washington DC. During the Production season, Ken earned the high honor of "The Comedic Fool Performance Award", beating out the character of the "Fool", in his own play.

By 2005, Ken moved to the Metropolitan/DC area and started his college career, at Bowie State University taking on a degree in Fine and Performing Arts with a concentration in Music Technology. While in college, Ken was an active member of the Bowie State University Gospel Choir, and recorded a gospel CD with the choir, clips from his choir performances can actually be seen on Youtube. He did however continue with his acting, by doing more musicals. One featured musical he did, was an Original Production entitled "Platinum" playing the character of Bunky in the African-American inspired, adaptation of "Grease".

After finishing school, Ken took a 3 year hiatus from performing and entertaining. In November of 2011, Ken stepped back onto the scene, collaborating with then Free-Roc Entertainment, but now, known as Iconic Dreams Entertainment, for, the Rapper/Actor, Common's "Ghetto Dreams" short FIlm contest. In this Global Contest, a 4th placed finished was gained. After this project, Ken continued and his work can be seen, in shows on the I.D. Channel (Investigation Discovery) like those of; Nightmare NextDoor, Deadly Affairs, and Addicted to the Life. As well as, on shows like HBO's Veep and NBC's new fall show "The Blacklist". Ken has also filmed test pilot shows for HBO and A&E. And has filmed an independent sci-fi film entitled "Safaar" which came out in 2013.

Through out his career, Ken has gained many awards and many honors, from the Male Vocalist Award with the National Choral School. To meeting with, performing for, and singing behind artists like; Common, India.Arie and even Country Star Kenny Rogers. Ken Has just finished Writing, Directing, Producing, his first short, which was entered in a contest for JuntoBox Films and has gotten rave reviews from people in the industry.

Ken Maurice is now living out in Los Angeles, CA, continuing to pursue his career in entertainment! Has done numerous projects in Film, TV, and Web. Portraying Kanye West and as well as Ezell from the Friday Franchise. He is currently in the production "Lost the Musical" a parody musical of the hit TV show. Ken Maurice is onto great things and his talents prove it, from working with the likes of Todrick Hall, Judge Mablean Ephriam, Clifton Powell, Christian Keyes, Darrin Dewitt Henson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and many more!!
