SYNOPSIS:
“CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE” is a glimpse into the fears, conspiracies and politics that create national tension in a country on the cusp of failure. It’s the story of a small, weekend radio crew that are on the air the eve of an unexpected revolution. Rick is a cynical DJ who takes nothing seriously and often pushes his humor to the very edge. He and his co-host of the show, Justin, play very well off of each other, but it is easy to see that Rick is the man in charge. Mocking news stories, slandering the competition and the daily game show of “How I met my dealer” are the typical daily events. But on this day, things turn out quite differently. Rick takes a phone call from a man wanting to get on the air because he has information that can save many lives. Labeling him a nut, Rick refuses to let him on air and ends the call abruptly. Soon after, reports come in that there was an attempted assassination on the President. The reports disclose that the assassin was Harold Tamor, a well-known conspiracy theorist. Snowballing, riots break out and our radio crew is forced to take refuge in the station. But even that does not last. When Rick, Justin and Jessica, the show's producer, are forced out into the volatile streets, it is a fight to stay alive and a challenge to determine what is, in fact, the truth.
