More and more I am "corrected" by the people that I am talking to with "I think you mean 'actress'". It was my understanding that the term "actress" was outdated, and now it was more politically correct to say "female actor," "male actor." Personally, I prefer the latter. I feel that by using the same word to describe us all it puts us on an equal playing field; the word "actress" just sounds less professional and serious to me--as if I'm still the little girl I was when I was 3 dreaming of being a big performer one day (not that there was anything wrong with that). I'm curious to know: Females: what do you introduce your profession as? What else have people heard the most?
Bravo!!! And, I might add RESPECT ¥ourself... As well as others too...

Living in NYC, female performers were always referred to as "actors", then I moved to Los Angeles where I was corrected by a producer who said, "Here you are an actress." I think it's up to your own personal preference. I don't correct people if they call me either. I'm a professional performer. "Actor", "Actress", both are correct.

Yes, when the characters come to life and begin conversing with you - interesting experience, but it doesn't enhance one's sleep.

I developed the logline and synopsis last month and Steve immediately pitched the idea to the History Channel. They passed on the concept, saying it sounded “very classy” but were looking for something more “badass”. However, Tyler Perry Productions expressed an interest in reading and possibly developing this story. Over a ten day period, sitting down at the laptop for long stretches of work, I wrote a first draft that Steve sent over to TPP today. Please stay tuned for further developments.

There is currently a post discussing how you consider your own script titles, but I'm curious to learn what titles you feel really nailed it. Which ones make you stop and think, "Wow, great title."
Leslie: the title Money Heist in English is better the original "La casa de papel/the house of paper." But the Spanish title suggests that the lives of everyone in the was fragile/or a lie.

Expand commentLara. You received a lot of good comments. On top of those, I'll put what I'd suggest you consider in the form of a question. Assuming you found a writer, worked out a deal, wrote the script which turned out well, what are you going to do with it? That is, are you producing? Are you seeking to become a screenwriter yourself? What is your personal goal in relation to that script? Because in my view, you'll be much better off if you have one. I have people outside the film biz, friends, who come to me from time to time with 'I have this great idea for a movie.'. And they're willing to tell that idea to me for 'just a piece of the action' when the script sells. What they don't realize is what's involved in getting to the great script based on that great idea and then, possibly equally or even more difficult, selling or producing the script. To be clear, please don't think I'm knocking your original question. I'm not. It's a good question. But I think you have to figure out how you plan, in particular, to involve yourself in the film business with the completed script and make that clear to any writer with whom you propose to work.

I feel a coming, everything is going to change, but wonder how its rating dares to reach above 5.6. The first was terrible but it was better than this slow thing. I mean are these people that love to drive on the slow lane, that like these ridiculous slouchy creations.
Michael B Jordan is quite good, but has he been given room to manoeuvre with this type of pace in the film, I suggest he tried but even he becomes stale because of the rhythm.
I would had flipped this script and made it hard, y'all coming out of the theatre like you've just had a thrill.
The Rocky days are over that was past, it’s now 2019, look what surpassed a Black Panther movie got nominated because of its ingenuity.

Knowing we're watching a movie feels great, but how will it feel when presented in a 'no holds barred augmented' real-life flow? Danger, anticipation, at quick speeds. In real-life this is the scenario that stages a swim in the deep-end scenario. A spark of that fire, a rush of wind, who's going to keep-up? I think the audience will. They are ready? It's like somebody who has taken a job and stuck with it, they're not a janitor, but think they are because it's now been 10 years. Get too attached too what you think you’re looking for and it will be like super glue. Give and let go, apply the super glue and you retract your energy and move onto what's next, the glue does its job. Christian Bale is good at this, even Bradley Cooper, A Star is Born, looks extraordinary, as he directs and acts. The pedestal is long gone, now actors Direct and act etc, produce etc. Meshed there is no extraordinary individual in one space, but those that have the ability move, do and finish. When we thinking of extreme precision this us the level I thought was required, if so wished upon because it exists, and the screenwriter Damien Chazelle is in vogue. After La La Land you know this guy is precise. Now if you production companies were looking for genius, actively participating in discovering it hence Whiplash (obviously not so so extreme) but with the sane intensive passion without abuse, y'all find that very stunning brilliance, that level of awe because y'all see it, notice it and prove it within a fraction of a second such as evident n example by a masterpiece movie, whereby the actor (Miles Teller) himself understood the detail.
Such fascination, but disappointment in some of these scouts, looking to copy and paste rather than create magic. Flexibility is the number one access key to inception of greatness.
Whiplash is a great script. I just read it recently. Very climactic. Strong characterization.

Not her fault I've recently acknowledged the pompous behaviour of builders/tradesmen, at the top of their field failing too identify simple executions as brilliant rather seeing them as an insult to the trade. Point being never see any as super or supreme, just because the thorough position they have might seem sophisticated to the dime, you do not know who you speak too. Otherwise they take all that specialness of which you have and make it dull, while placing the dull picture on the wall as art. Striking yes, but on the second visit, it is no longer interesting, it is nothing. It almost takes away the worth of the first visit, too the point of the third and fourth visit, you'd rather look at the plain painted white wall, because that lends more too imagination than that temporary copycat painting.
Only beauty is fine and free, open and expressive the small door that leads to Neverland. Just like the girl who knows she shouldn't be with you but wants to trick you into being with her, what out! She's not pretty enough, and she knows it, it;s an outright disgrace! One friendly encounter is enough and that's all she deserves, and that's what these weal movies eve with big names attached to the, deserve! One watch, at least by those conscientious enough to distinguish what's been proposed as as enough for a moment, but recollective as a classic, never!

Bringing confusion so that you can gain is a terrible acquisition and proven is this by that Weinstein, and the rest of these disgusting people, thinking they have power and glory, but nothing exists but waste in the end.

It's not his prerogative, it's hers.

And so what if there are MANY shows on TV, there’s a time for everything… and now it’s showing through the actors. Is it NOW becoming a chore? Bored of the same tones, I mean Jack Whitehall I noticed in his first scene for Mother’s Day, how slow and perhaps taught he’d been made too act. The same tones who’s it all done for? 1940’s up until the 80’s the drops of shadows in these boring things need to elevate. People and the world is different. The truth shall set us free regardless of political correctness etc, censoring, etc, blah, blah, what, what, who, who, scared and afraid, bringing nonspecial standards too people that are in need of better. Everybody would prefer too have an original fashion label rather than a knock-off. The magical twilight is that in the end the truth will erupt.
Huh?
I think he's saying these actors who all have "made it", no longer are crafting a unique character for each role. They appear...as themselves. Denzel Washington is a good example. In his dialog, you can almost guess how he will deliver the next line. Yawn.....
Sour grapes...?? How so? A actor bring paid a boatload of money can't craft a unique charter for the role and maybe take some diction classes so his dialog delivery can fit the role?

ARROGANCE. They think some special effects is the best thing in the world, an emotional movie, remember get the balance, EVERYTHING IS NOTHING. There's no specialism here, it's all a copy of REALITY or attempt to create something and at reality it truly isn't real as to my breathing air. If you are changing things for the sake of a so called proven formula you restrict life and it’s growth. The idea of plenty goes… I’ve heard that line before or you’re stuttering trying to fool us with the attempt of portraying yourself as something you are NOT as a person who copies frequently because there is no identity. White superiority is somewhat glanced at and perhaps elements of reinforcement for viewers is shown, perhaps this effect works as a reminder in the wrong way... done on purpose now that's a totally different question - I doubt it, but could it be possible, who are these instigators. To shut the voices was a paramount move of slavery. It's been happening since. Only now, are Black or other than whites, been seen quite clearly for fear of reprisals and this includes women... I mean we live in a PLACE where DONALD TRUMP runs for Presidency... you call this life a joke... people they say they are professionals... Trump says the same. They sit in their suits, who are these people just so by be it maybe they arrived at the place however they did it they are there JUST LIKE TRUMP. Now anyone and nobody can fool me in sight to revelation of my analysis of them... and I am straight to the point.... just like that. There is no vail... no clouds... who are these people? Talk to me about study... Donald Trump went to Yale, this is what he uses such so called intellect for rubbish... complete nonsense... but for the cruel attempts to flash gold or portray what is weak as strong by manipulation and tactics that one might think is clever but in the end it can not be of glory. Speak to me tell me... but I pretend not, in the flesh and on the computer, as it is WRITTEN and as it is on screen. Life is comical too some but STARS exist, constructed ALIGNED. Galaxies, Universe, I have no time for nonsense, when great spectacular things happen around us. Professionals that only NOW make woman lead movies, that participate in what reality is, NOT by their thinking, but BY demand of the voice of the people, Tell me about professionalism... tell me about bowing to money... yes master, yes master... all for money profit and gain... dumbing down minds, that's where their very own children will live and just like the movie says 'People think things will stay the same' but even the weather changes, so don't tell me about smart... about experience... technical experience... (fine) as if you can rule the world when smart people exist. Even the movie (THE BIG SHORT) exposes and shows everything… no building is greater than the sky… and we all experience the SKY because it IS MORE IMPORTANT! Stepping up from notions of insanity... I state that money is nothing, just as small as the earth is in contrast (Milky Way) mind everything… for a home you walk too or anybody including TRUMP walks too... but one day he enters no longer (earth)... perhaps he's moved and such is life... DO WHAT IS RIGHT. How many lessons can ONE PLANET be shown... efforts must be MADE to get them solidly seeing confidently and that includes those that support TRUMP... He's a businessman, glitter and gold, tallest building... good at statements... but at the end of staying at one of his places... he gets more wealthy. Suddenly there's a healthy mixture of people from different backgrounds in roles, at least clearly visible by eye. The sky is greater than what’s that of the earth …for space increases... therefore imagine a world where the white man is SLAVE to the black man... not as Planet of the Apes... (perhaps you're trying to avoid riots or craziness)... but written correctly this will not happen. Attending for audiences that are viewing movies 3/4/5/6 times, this is not SUCCESSFUL these are people that are throwing crisps in the AIR, while laughing hysterically, just as TRUMPS supporters... who ever this is FOR that of whom reads it - be well increase and write well, what is my participation - it definitely is not nonsense... and those that think it is are precisely what I am talking about. Keep the vail on as operating within it will take you all the way JUST like Mr. Trump... but perhaps in the END he might see... WHO KNOWS! ;) xx
