About George

Dear Filmmakers,
I'm a union-eligible sound man with the experience of hundreds of shoots.

I have all my own gear and you will hear everything recorded cleanly and clearly. I usually do it all myself, but can also fully equip a dedicated Boom Operator.

I use the Schoeps CMIT 5 boom mic, DPA 6060 lav mics for my Sennheiser G4 wireless systems, the Zoom F8 recorder, the Ambient Nano Lockit time code boxes for at least 2 cameras that support timecode, and the Ambient LockIt Smartslate.

I provide Comtek receivers to give you and a few other people a scratch track to listen in on.

Once we are done shooting, I provide a USB cable to copy over the recorded audio onto your DIT system.

You will get 2 folders with both polywaves and grouped tracks.

My gear is compact but very effective as a great many of my repeat clients can attest to, with dedicated indoor and outdoor setups for easy mobility.

I can record wild lines wherever possible for the best takes if there are ever problems, as well as various on the spot foley effects to enhance the sound of a scene.

I also record voiceovers and ADR re-recordings in Pro Tools DAW, and any other special events that require audio production.

I am a problem solver for a wide variety of sound issues that will simplify your needs with a variety of sound solutions on set, and I always champion the Director and defer to their judgement.
That said, if I see an audio problem I will let you know as soon as possible so we can make the necessary adjustments.

I’m easy going and I know how to make talent feel comfortable but I always keep it on a professional level
so that I can get the audio recording needed for the scene.

I've been working in Production Audio since 2000 and have worked live events of all kinds since 1987.

Here’s a small write-up about me in the Santa Barbara Independent, under the tab of “Santa Barbara’s Unique Gigs”:

My love of audio recording comes from my experience as pro musician and engineer where we are "educated" about all the mics and their uses instead of being "trained" on how to use these mics, along with how to maximize their potential.

I use my equipment based on my own experience over many shoots and can react to anomalies in the filming
process or any audio problems, on the fly, with little or no down time.

I am highly tech savvy, and can be versatile whether it’s for someone's reel, a bigger production with multiple cameras, a corporate shoot, recording
a keynote speech, a virtual 360 shoot, a classroom recording, a live concert performance recording, with very efficient plans and setups to get the most out of your production.

Please give me a call and let's make your dream project come true
