About Jake
Recent graduate from Lancaster University recieving a 2:1 BA(Hons) in Theatre. I have performed at the Edinburgh fringe festival with Sandbach School Theatre (2006, 2008, 2010), Ut Severis Seges Theatre (2010), The Offshoots (2011) and The Lancaster Offshoots (2012) in acting and performance capacities. I have also performed at the National Theatre as a part of National Connections Festival ('It Snows' 2008) and have been actively involved with the theatre group at my university (LUTG) taking part in an acting capacity ('One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest' (2010), 'The Rivals' (2011), 'Punk Rock' (2011), 'The Wonderful World Of Dissocia' (2012), 'Stags And Hens' (2012), 'Pornography' (2013)) as well as in a directing capacity ('Art' 2013). As for experience from my degree, I have learnt how to devise my own shows and invaluable skills in group work. I have also been briefly trained in programming and rigging lights for my own show. I have learned basic movement skills in modern and contemporary classes. I am also a member of Equity, and was also nominated by my university for Equity student bursary award. I also have formed my own theatre company (Tin Tin Theatre) with fellow students, having performed our first show ‘Start A War’ at the start of April 2013, with also a recent performance at Parklife festival in June 2013 entitled 'Justice For Bezes' and are working closely with fellow partners of LEAP (Lancaster Emerging Arts Platform). I have also recently performed at Nozstock festival, writing and playing music for a company called Paper People Theatre and their piece 'Stories From... The Wild West' (2013). Therefore I am interested in devising work (contemporary theatre and dance) as well as working closely with music and its influence on performance.
