BETWEEN 2 WORLDS Princess Nia loves snorting coke and racing speedboats. Her parents the king and queen of the African nation of Denkali have raised Nia to be the future leader, but she rebels. At their coronation, the king & queen are assassinated by Gen. Lusala. Immediately the power hungry general names himself president and orders martial law. Barely escaping with her royal hide, Nia flees to America where she is denied political asylum because the U.S. needs her country’s oil. Loaded up for deportation, Nia bolts from custody and hitchhikes to Montana where she hires on as domestic help for a cantankerous rancher named Bronk Taylor. After a few burnt meals and broken hierlooms, Nia gets the hang of running the ranch house. Shopping in town one day, Nia is recruited to protest the construction of a controversial chemical plant. When the protest organizer is arrested, Nia steps up and is also thrown in the clink. Bronk bails Nia out, but criticizes her civil disobedience. Having cooled off, Bronk invites Nia to the cattlemen’s ball where they encounter Clark, the developer of the chemical plant. Right away Clark and Nia go at it. Bronk separates the two and dances the night away with Nia, eventually winding up in bed with her. Next day, Clark and his goons force Nia to crash Bronk’s pickup and threaten her to clear out of town. With Nia laid up in the hospital, Bronk hunts down Clark and exacts his own street justice. While recuperating Nia receives word that the protest organizer is ill and can’t attend a public hearing. Once again defying Bronk’s wishes Nia delivers a moving speech to the town council and succeeds in shutting down construction of the chemical plant. Impressed with Nia’s presentation Bronk joins in on the applause. A world away, a team of hit men are dispatched by Gen. Lusala to assassinate Nia. Arriving in Montana, the hit men break into the ranch house and attack with machine guns. Bronk an ex-marine and Nia who is an avid hunter kill off the assassins. When the sheriff uncovers Nia’s true identity, Bronk kicks her off his ranch. Realizing his life is not the same, Bronk chases down a bus leaving town and convinces Nia to stay. Celebrating the closing of the chemical plant, Bronk proposes marriage to Nia. That same day, a former royal advisor named Kamu informs Nia that the people of Denkali have overthrown Gen. Lusala and pleads with her to return their country. Emotionally torn, Nia gives into her heart and decides to stay in Montana to marry Bronk. Moved by Kamu’s heartfelt words, Bronk convinces Nia that she should return to her homeland. Nia arrives back in Denkali and assumes power as its leader. Immediately she halts Gen. Lusala’s execution and instead sentences him to life on a chain gang which will help rebuild their war torn nation. At Nia’s request, Bronk flies in for her coronation. Afterwards Nia asks Bronk to remain in Denkali and go through with their wedding. Surprisingly Bronk refuses explaining that Nia needs to focus on pulling her devastated country together. As his cab circles the long driveway Bronk bails out and runs back to the palace and into the arms of his royal bride.
