SYNOPSIS:

A twenty-something private school teacher is looking forward to peace and quiet over Christmas vacation. She has a great house-sitting job lined up at the luxurious home of a school family. The teacher is devoted to her students, loves her work, and has no interest in any romantic entanglements. Instead of the low-key vacation she had expected in a great house, the teacher ends up playing maid, chef, chauffeur, and ice hockey substitute for her employer's step-son, a twenty-something law school student, and the one person she was supposed to keep out of the house. The law school student throws one holiday party after another, and the teacher grows increasingly desperate to maintain order. Yet, at the same time she’s trying to get rid of him, the teacher finds herself letting him into her heart. When the family returns home from their ski trip unexpectedly, the mother catches the pair fooling around on the living room couch in front of the Christmas tree. It's not the Martha Stewart holiday image she had in mind. She fires the teacher on the spot and vows to have her fired from her teaching job, too. The teacher tries to go back to her apartment for the rest of the break, but her roommate has turned it into a center for refugees from holiday family dysfunction. The teacher ends up taking refuge herself in the dungeon of a training room in the school gym. Her holidays are officially a disaster, and she regrets getting involved with the law school student in the first place. However, the holiday season is not over yet. The law school guy arranges one last holiday party, a New Year’s Eve extravaganza, and he asks the teacher to give him another chance. Although she's hesitant, she accepts his invitation, and their relationship gets a fresh start when they kiss at midnight. She finally allows room for romance.
