Born and trained in the UK (Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts), Ruth has lived and worked in the UK, Asia and Australia as an actress, presenter and director/producer.
As an actress Ruth appeared in theatre, short films & commercials in London up to 2005, before travelling the world to live in South America, Japan, Vietnam and Australia.
In Vietnam she appeared in numerous shows including a version of "Play" for the Irish Embassy's Samuel Beckett Centenary celebrations, photographed by John Minihan (official photographer of Beckett).
In Australia, Ruth trained with Peter Andrikidis, Kevin Jackson (NIDA) & Kate Gaul. She also appeared in numerous short films and plays whilst working as an actor and producer for Underground Cinema (a live immersive theatre/cinema group).
As a presenter Ruth hosted two internationally broadcast tv shows from Vietnam, as well as hosting the TV talent show "Let's Get Loud". She has also presented many corporate videos and was the voice of countless commercials, documentaries & English Language Learning TV shows.
As a director/producer in Vietnam Ruth directed several large scale productions, co-devised the first ever Shakespeare festival in Hanoi, lead workshops for both native & non-native English speakers, used drama to work with disadvantaged youth and set up a drama school for kids. In Australia she became the director/producer for the Sydney branch of Underground Cinema and Secret Squirrel Productions. All this followed years of producing her own small scale events in England, taking a show to the Edinburgh Festival in 1998, devising two live interactive themed cabaret nights in 2000/2001 and directing numerous murder mystery evenings for corporate events!
