Elaine Ouston

After a career as a graphic artist, copywriter, and marketing consultant, I retreated from the rat race and turned to my longtime dream of writing children’s fiction. To ensure I knew enough about my chosen craft, I went back to University and completed a Master of Letters in Creative Writing. The first book in the The Mystery of Nida Valley series was published in 2011. It is a fantasy series about a magical hidden valley, which is home to Australian megafauna, dinosaurs, and a magical community. Book two, Captured, was released in 2012, and book three is under way. I am also completing a YA story and have had a couple of other books published. I edit for other writers, teach writing to adult students, and have started my own publishing imprint, Morris Publishing Australia. You can find more information about me and my novels at or
