ANGELIQUE VAILES, a native Washingtonian, began her journey as a hairstylist when she graduated from the New Carrollton Hair Academy. A member of the Maryland State Beauty Culturist’s Association since 1997, Ms. Vailes began her career as a professional stylist throughout the metropolitan area. She advanced in her trade by commuting to New York and working with one of the top stylists, Gerard Dru “Stylist to the Stars”. She was also an instructor at Bennett Career Institute located in Washington DC. Ms. Vailes’ has extensive knowledge of products and hair care and she has been trained to work with many fabrics of hair. In addition, she has developed a unique expertise in customized wig making and is skilled in providing a variety of hair replacement options. As a result, she enjoys working with a very diverse clientele and is able to take the best approach to not only meet but also exceed her clients’ expectations. Ms. Vailes has also received numerous awards and recognition for her work. She participated and won third place in the “12th Annual Golden Scissors Awards” in Washington, DC in November 2004. She then partnered with Glynn Jackson, TV One’s Tangles and Locks hair icon, and has participated in several other hair shows in and out the metropolitan area. Ms. Vailes is also a proficient cosmetologist, gaining experiences from professional make-up artists who include: Danessa Myrick, Reggie Wells, Sam Fine and Derrick Rutledge. Currently, she is a freelance make-up artist for MAC and Bennett Career Institute. As the owner of AV Custom Wigs located in Hyattsville, MD, she has participated in several community events to volunteer her hair services. Ms. Vailes’ varied experience and training is a testament to her personal commitment to providing customized hair care and cosmetology solutions and unparalleled customer service.
