I'm Romain, a young french grip who arrived recently in England!
I've spent the last 4 years working as a grip/key grip back in France, mainly on student movies because I was still in school. But since my school was pretty well equiped I had the pleasure of working with dollies with or without tracks, jibs, dutch heads, as well as big cameras like the Red One and ARRI Alexa.
I worked as a key grip on most of those students movies because I was the only one in the school, so it allowed me to work on really diverse projects, in studios, in the forest and even under the snow. This key grip position also trained my eye for security issues, taught me how to give and follow orders, and gave me the opportunity to train some people younger than me. I can also say with confidence that I learned how to deal with the differents personalities on the set in a peaceful and goal-minded way, all for the good of the final product!
After school I spent 1 year and a half working with the corporate producing company Jeff & Octave in Paris. SInce we were only three people in the company, I learned a lot in organisation and multi-tasking on the set.
Finally, I have to tell you that I don't have my drivers licence, french or english, otherwise I would consider myself dishonest.
I'm at your disposal for any questions or clarifications
