Nicky Royston is a 22 year old composer for media and songwriter. Born into family of musicians and piano teachers, she naturally found piano as her first instrument. As she got older she got more fond of composing small ideas from a very young age. At 14 she was writing songs and composing full orchestral scores and at this point she then realised that she wanted to be a composer for media.
She was always moved and interested in how music was such an important side of the journey of a movie. She then decided to take a degree in composing to develop her craft and love for composing. Since graduating from the University of Chichester with a Ba(Hons) in Music - Composing for media in 2012, she has scored many award winning short and feature films. She also worked along side award winning composers Marco Werba and Joe Conlan last year.
Her first film was 'Voices' This was co-composed with Award-winning American composer Joe Conlan. She then went on to composing 5 cues for the award winning feature film 'The Inflicted' which recently won the Gold Remi Award for Best First Feature at WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival just after finishing university. Since then she has scored many short films, documentaries and trailers.
She recently just scored her first full feature film 'The O'Briens' which was a huge hit at the Newport Beach Film Festival 2013 and it won it's first award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking'
