About Chad

Chad Newman is an award wining producer, director and film editor who co-founded Digital Island Media in Key West, Florida.

Chad has over 18 years experience working in the film and television industry, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. As an actor and stand-up comedian, Chad has appeared in movies, television shows and numerous television commercials.

In 2005, Chad formed Digital Island Media with Steve Panariello. Digital Island Media is a full service production company specializing in broadcast television, new media and digital film production. Our broadcast clients have included CNN, NBC, HGTV, Travel Channel, Weather Channel, the Food Network and ESPN.

In 2009, Chad won an Emmy for technical achievement based on his role in post production on the Vandenberg documentary project. At 528 feet, the Vandenberg is the 2nd largest ship ever to be sunk as an artificial reef and rhe Digital Island Media team planned and executed the network pool coverage from air & sea platforms as well as from five hi-definition cameras mounted to the ship.

Chad moved from Los Angeles, California to Key West, Florida in Early 2003 to produce and edit the documentary “Key West: City of Colors.” This film was aired on Canadian television and distributed domestically by Picture This, Entertainment. Chad also produced and directed the 2004 Official Fantasy Fest video with host Traci Bingham and edited and produced a documentary about homosexuality and religion.

Chad Newman is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
