About Patrick

Patrick Avella is a filmmaker and actor from Queens, New York, and Co-founder of Room 1209 Productions. He studied business at St. John’s University, has a BFA in Film & Video production from City College of New York, and studied the Meisner Technique at the Acting Studio, NY. Patrick spent a year in San Francisco where he studied music and songwriting at the Blue Bear School of Music and is a huge Bob Dylan fan.

While creating the web series Space Available, which he wrote, directed, and produced to be the platform for his acting career, Patrick discovered his love for filmmaking and dedicated the following years to studying the craft and making films.

Patrick’s body of work includes Space Available (streaming on Amazon Prime); Hi, I’m Dan (streaming on Amazon Prime), winner of Best short/SHORT at the Miami Short Film Festival; and Population Control, winner of Best short/SHORT at the Cutting Room International Film Festival; among others. He has also produced off-off broadways plays including Almost A Fantasy, which premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2012. Patrick’s latest short film, iParent, now being submitted to film festivals, is proof of concept for his first feature film currently in development.
