About Amanda

Writer and producer for screen and theatre through my personal business, Amanda Jane Starr, and my entertainment brand, Stand Entertainment. I also write blogs and freelance journalism - all kinds really! I teach drama and performance in a local performing arts company for young people. I love photography and working with other creatives to produce excellent work.

My recent background has been spent in event/venue management, working on some of the biggest gigs in NSW including Big Day Out, Stereosonic, Sydney Royal Easter Show, Sydney Telstra V8 Supercars as well as large-scale corporate functions, dinners and product launches.

I am currently working on several personal projects including a short film (write and produce), a few features, a novel and a documentary. I am a writer/script editor for the Sentient production, producing on several film projects and in the early stages of a theatre production in the role of producer. I am in the process of organising ongoing seminars and events for the entertainment business and am on the Sydney Indie Film Festival team.

My day job is in television broadcast operations as a presentation coordinator at Nine Network Australia, Australia's largest free-to-air television network. But I'd prefer to be writing and producing full-time!
