Skateboarding and extreme cycling made their way into the mainstream sports realm when ESPN launched the first X Games competition in 1995. Since then, both sports, along with surfing and snowboarding, have been televised every year during the winter and summer X Games.Recognizing the popularity of cycling and skating in local culture, Coffie and his film crew headed out to the local skate park around 7 a.m. Aug. 6.
