LOGLINE: LOGLINE: Broke country singer rents out travel on his tour bus to a vacationing family" (Blake Shelton meets The Griswolds)

SONNY DAY is a country singer once had a number 1 hit record. A long time ago. Lately, Sonny and his band play small festivals and nearly vacant nightclubs. Attendance is sparse and money is non-existent. But, the boys have a chance to appear at a lucrative talent booker showcase in Las Vegas, but only if they can come up with $3000 to buy a spot on the show. The only way to raise fast cash is by selling a 'ride-along' on their tour bus to timid accountant SCOTT, his wife and two teenage kids. Scott thinks touring with a small country band might be fun. The family is not nearly as excited. As they join the band on the road they're horrified by the rusty, smoking hulk of a bus they're about to board...and even more shocked by the grizzly, moth-eaten players who make up Sonny's band. But before they back out of the trip entirely, sorority princess ASHLEY locks her sights on the band's hunky youg guitar player, JUNIOR. As the wheels of the bus roll, the family acts as roadies on the band's gas money collecting tour of the small town festivals they play on the way to Nevada. Racing them to the showcase is an up and coming young band, WHISKEY SPRINGS, who attempt to slow our heroes down at every opportunity. This includes getting them thrown into jail in a small desert town whose sheriff is a demented control freak...and an asipring songwriter. Stops include a rowdy biker gang rally, an escape from middle aged groupies and a visit to see Scott's snooty country club dad in a fashionable Arizona golf course community. In the race to the finish line, there's new songs to create, fences to mend and a long overdue reunion of the heart. "BACKSTAGE PASSengers" is a road trip comedy about two very different family units learning that nothing teaches you about people like taking a road trip with them...and that the treasures discovered are far greater than those you pursue.
