About Sophia

Sophia is currently in her last year at Columbia College Chicago studying for her BA in Television with a focus in Directing and Writing. She has started her last Semester in Los Angeles with JOINT EFFORT PRODUCTIONS LTD as a Development Intern.

Spring 2017 Sophia was fortunate enough to work with the BBC on several of their smaller projects including ‘Blue Peter’ working as a grip/production assistant.

Last Semester 20I8 Sophia was selected to be one of the directors for Columbia College’s Live FreqOut Comedy Sketch Show. With this production she directed two live sketches (“Meatball” & “CGI”) as well as two other digital shorts (“History” & “CGI - Single Camera”) which were all multi-camera live studio directing. Sophia also was the assistant director to two other live sketches while also directing the opening credits in a single shot digital short. All aforementioned videos can be found in the portfolio section below.

Summer 2018 Sophia worked with the non for profit Green Star Movement as their Video Production Intern in charge of filming events and projects and creating promotional videos as well as social media.

Sophia also has worked with the 2017 Chicago International Film Festival as their Volunteer Coordinator responsible for scheduling, training and recruiting over 150 volunteers during the festival season.
