Garrison Gray Hancock

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana but raised on a farm forty-five minutes outside of the city in Picayune, Mississippi. It wasn’t exactly a haven for the arts but performance was always a way of life for me and those around me helped and cultivated me as a performer. I grew up doing theatre, choir, and show choir in anyplace that would let me. It started with in church went to school and finally in public theatre in the small venues that we had.

We did everything from Shakespeare and a Christmas Carol to Passion Plays and Live Interactive Horror Experiences. Even my first job was that of a Radio DJ and announcer at the local radio station. Finally, just before I left for college I played the Lead of Ren in Footloose for a local theatre, with some of my best friends in the world backing me up in the band.

Leaving home for the first time I went to college for Musical Theatre and Opera. After some time there I decided to take a break and expand my horizons and try new things. I had taken martial arts for many years and was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which lead to me becoming a Professional Mixed Martial Artist and Fighter.

Just as the UFC was gaining popularity with the first season of the Ultimate Fighter TV show I began my amateur fight career becoming the Number 2 ranked amateur in North America before turning pro. With the help of Gold Dragon Mixed Martial Arts, I fought a total of 17 fights becoming the UKC Lightweight Champion in the Southeast United States.

After Five years of training, competition, and professional fighting I decided that it was time to go back to my true calling and enrolled in Film School. I moved to Orlando, Florida and attended Full Sail University for Film and Television. During my time their I performed in over a dozen short films and landed my first professional agent and commercial work.

In 2012, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting Full time and I have been paying my dues ever since, taking classes, auditioning, and performing at any given opportunity while creating my own work.
