Laurel Parker was born and raised in sunny San Diego, where she attended middle school at the School of Creative and Performing Arts and acted at the revered Old Globe Theatre, and in New Image Teen Theatre with Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy. Laurel went on to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication at Cal State LA. She made her first films while earning an MFA in directing at Columbia College, Chicago.
Laurel returned to LA and did technical work at Disney Studios and then MGM. On the weekends she produced sound for the Sunday Show at the infamous Groundlings Theater, working with Melissa McCarthy and Maya Rudolph.
In 2002, Laurel established Mobley Street Productions to produce her own projects and to provide a full spectrum of film and video production services. She launched the UK arm, Mobley Street Productions Ltd., in 2011. With Mobley Street, Laurel has produced and directed stand-up comedy features, featurettes for high profile DVD releases such as Robocop and The Borgias, corporate promos and sizzle reels for major corporations including Microsoft, numerous music videos, and several award winning comedy shorts. She has earned a reputation for producing stylish, funny, and gripping work that always meets the needs of her clients.
Currently, Laurel is working on pre-production for “Eduardo Munez”, a dark short film about a man on the edge...and lots of mail. She is also a highly sought after voice over artist represented by London Voice Boutique.
