The Cat Leigh and Marci Welles tv crime series is based on the novels of the same name. The Rose in the Web is the second episode. Cat and Marci are homicide detectives in the style of Cagney and Lacey... smart, tough, irreverent and determined to keep people safe in an increasingly dangerous world. When Cat and Marci are called to the scene of a possible murder on a closed beach, they discover that the victim is a lifeguard who was loved by many women and hated by many more. While at the scene, Cat and Marci notice a large group of women watching from the vantage point above the water line. They are but a small percentage of the many women who were seduced and abandoned by the victim. The detectives and a crack team of investigators set out to find the killer; along the way discovering that Hell truly does have no fury like 800 women scorned
