At a top-secret government facility, a brilliant criminal psychologist interrogates an extraterrestrial captive about his reasons for being on Earth, and comes to realize her expertise in the nature of evil isn't as thorough as she believed.

SYNOPSIS:

After breaking a serial killer and learning where all his bodies are buried, brilliant criminal psychologist CLAUDIA SCARLETT gets an offer she can't refuse: The chance to interrogate a dangerous international terrorist at a top-secret government facility, with potentially the fate of the world at stake. Arriving at the facility somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, Claudia meets COLONEL ELENA SHAW, the military head of the facility, and learns the unusual ground rules. No contact with the outside world, a deadline of two weeks to break the prisoner, and she must wear an in-ear monitoring device at all times. The only other people at the facility are security officer BRAD MANNIX, ALEX WINSTEAD, a liaison from the State Department, and LUCY, Shaw's niece who cleans things.

The next day Claudia meets the prisoner, who goes by the name of MARCUS. After a rough first encounter, Claudia manages to use her skills to get Marcus to open up a bit, and is stunned to learn he's not an international terrorist but a shapeshifting alien from another planet. Marcus claims his spaceship crashed on Earth accidentally and all he wants is to be able to go home. But Shaw doesn't buy his story, and keeps pushing Claudia to extract the truth from him. After a few more sessions, Claudia begins to believe Marcus, and learns that Alex does as well. After giving in to their mutual attraction, Claudia and Alex hatch a plan to try to help Marcus escape. Claudia learns that Marcus has telepathic powers, which the ear devices counteract. She turns hers off and communicates to Marcus about their escape plans. A grateful Marcus promises to do whatever he can to help them.

Claudia ends up having to pretend to seduce Shaw in order to get her master password to the facility, then knocks her out with a drug. While Alex keeps Brad at bay, Claudia frees Marcus, who then reveals his true Reptilian nature and viciously kills poor Lucy in cold blood. Brad overpowers Alex and locks down the facility just as Shaw wakes up and confronts Marcus. A battle ensues, but Shaw really has no chance and Marcus gets his long-sought revenge on her. Alex reveals to Brad and Claudia that Marcus had been mind-controlling him all along, and throws off Marcus' influence just long enough to kill himself. It's left up to Claudia and Brad to try and stop Marcus from escaping and initiating a full-scale invasion of Earth by his evil alien brethren.
