When Miranda Chambers loses her husband to a drowning accident in the lake behind their cabin, she is taken on a journey through the clandestine caverns of her soul. While grappling with her grief, she finds herself transported to the past and must come to terms with the truth about her life and her identity. In the process, to help herself cope, she plants a garden – a garden no one believes will flourish due to its location – and in the process, she experiences the greatest gift imaginable – the death and rebirth of her spirit.

SYNOPSIS:

Miranda's Garden is a magical realism feature film that follows Miranda Chambers through the grieving process due to the loss of her husband's drowning, which in turn, unearths a past she never knew existed. The garden she grows, an endeavor of solace and a metaphor for her awakening, takes on magical qualities when she plants in a location everyone tells her is doomed to fail. Miranda's Garden asks us to examine and question our ideas around family, memory, and the thin line between sanity and insanity.
