"I'm In" - Official Trailer

Have you ever wondered what goes on in someone else's head when they're depressed? Do you ever wonder if others think the same way you do? Wilfred Alderson, the man you know only inside his own mind, is the central character to a ‪#‎DPC_LLC‬ short film production. "I'm In" reveals the inner ramblings of the mind of a man during moments of solitude, exercising, work, sleep, wandering... Sound boring? Well, you've never heard the unfiltered inner dialogue of Wilfred Alderson....

Director of Photography Reel 2016

This reel focuses on cinematic imagery pulled from shorts and long form corporate productions to highlight working as a Director of Photography. Most of the footage was shot using the Blackmagic Production Camera 4k. The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera was used at 0:21-0:28 and 1:14-1:22. A GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition was used and it's pretty clear what shots they are. The Time lapse shots were shot as 4k raw stills with a Panny GH2 using a Genie time lapse motion controller on a Varavon...

Bigs Littles Monthly Giving Membership

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia recently contracted DPC-LLC to do a film for their Monthly Giving Membership. The film was shot at Layman’s Farm in Botetourt County using their corn maze. We used real “bigs” and “littles” as the cast. We also had the chance to use a brushless gimbal to stabilize the camera for tracking shots. It worked out quite nicely.

Roanoke Regional Partnership

This film was a long time in the process. We had a lot of locations to cover and some interesting shots to pull off, including a fantastic drone shot of the Roanoke Valley at the very end, with help from TAG Aerial Media. It also required a significant amount of time in post production. To highlight data points for the region, we used motion tracking to attach graphics to the imagery giving the effect that the graphics are part of the scenery. In addition to the motion tracking, rotoscoping...

"Blue Ridge Standard Time" - Director's Cut

The films done for Virginia's Blue Ridge are the culmination of the efforts of many creative and talented professionals from a number of organizations and businesses. It's rare that corporate films vetted by committee retain the original essence and vision drafted by the writers, directors, cinematographers, and designers, but these did. There's always some give a and take and compromise when collaborating on projects like this one, which included a tourism bureau, two advertising agencies, a...

"Blue Ridge Standard Time" - TV :30

We started with the "Director's Cut". Our intent was to make the best film possible based on the script written by Todd Marcum at Access Advertising and PR, with no worry about how long it came out to be. The intent was to win over the hearts of the client and wow them with an emotional piece that spoke to the place within a person that wants to be at peace and feel connected to the beauty of the Blue Ridge region. We ended up with a 94 second film and were faced with keeping the same emotion...

Interactive Achievement - "Our Story"

Created in 2006 by educators, Interactive Achievement is an award winning software company which produces assessment programs for educators to track a student’s progress and potential. This is one in a series of corporate films done to tell their story and launch new products in conjunction with the launch of the redesigned web site. DPC-LLC collaborated with Access Advertising and PR of Roanoke Virginia to create a clean but loose look which underscores the direct yet open hearted and fun...

The Roanoke Advertising History Project

Back in April of this year, a member of The Roanoke Chapter of The American Advertising Federation asked me if I would be interested in helping with a project he had in mind. What he wanted to do was produce a movie documenting the history of advertising in Roanoke and the influence it had (and still has) throughout the region and even the country. My role would be to film some interviews. I said I would. Nearly 30 interviews later, numerous volunteers to review and log footage, and teamwork...

"The Company of Silver Seas PR"

Official promo video for Silver Seas PR, a Roanoke Virginia based PR business specializing in getting media coverage for cultural creatives. The original idea behind this film was to create a simple, sincere, but direct message of what the company is and what it does. It was also important that the simplicity and sincerity be visually portrayed through spartan set design and wardrobe. The directness of the message is underscored by the organic music...simple but powerful drums, bass, piano,...

J.S. Perry & Co.

A story of relationship building with custom home builder Steve Perry of Clearwater Florida, this corporate short film highlights his skills, creativity, and passion as he builds and maintains relationships with his clients, employees, and family. As a man who "loves the smell of freshly hung drywall", it was important to focus on telling a story of a kid who turned his lifelong passion to build things, into a successful, award winning career and a strong family buisness. Steve originally...
