SYNOPSIS:

HUG of a LIFETIME is a roller coaster ride of human emotions in a world of lust, greed, and betrayal. Marina del Rey, CA. 1972. MICHAEL FODOR (27) is a sharp young engineer with a promising career. His longtime girlfriend DANIELLE is on him to get married but Michael has little interest in a commitment. He lives the life of a young bachelor in a single swingers club with his best friend who calls himself DR. LOVE. But, in 1974 when his longtime rival RANDY, moves down from Canada and steals a promotion from him, Michael realizes that he needs to get his head straight and make some changes. He abruptly quits his job on a whim and decides to go back to Europe to reconnect with his roots. He visits his birthplace in Austria and faces the shock of his life when he meets the woman who saved his family’s life 28 years ago. He was borne in her house and out of the blue she had a premonition about his return. She also predicted that he came back to get married but Michael scoffs at that idea. A few days later, he encounters the lovely ISABELLA (21) in Hungary. It’s love at first sight and twelve hours later he is asking for her father’s blessings. Isabella’s family thinks Michael is an insane American who is going to drag her into the dangers of Los Angeles but she follows her heart and marries Michael before he returns to the States. Danielle meets him at the airport and tells him that he got her pregnant and she still has hopes of marrying him. Isabella is arriving soon and he now has a dilemma. Isabella accepts Michael’s past life style but the problem with Danielle lingers in the air, even though they have never met the child. By 1980, Isabella and Michael have a four year old daughter. Isabella wants to adopt Danielle’s child, only to find out that she had an abortion but kept it a secret, hoping to draw Michael back into her life. Michael starts a successful company but Randy sets up a competing business, steals his contracts, key employees, and bankrupts him. The couple faces other incredible personal tragedies when Isabella’s father dies and her mother commits suicide. The ultimate test of their love is when their daughter is diagnosed with cancer and her life is in jeopardy. After hitting bottom, Dr. Love, Isabella, and Danielle form an unlikely alliance to set up a fiendish trap for Randy, based on his greed. Michael’s revenge is skillfully executed when his friends push Randy near death by crucifixion and force him into oblivion.
