SYNOPSIS:

In Beverly Hills, 1933, an ex-silent movie child star, brought over to Hollywood from England in 1919 by her ambitious mother to become cute screen moppet 'Darling Heart', is now 24 and unable to make the transition to adult roles. Wanting to 'find her real self' she travels to Africa in search of the English brother from whom she was parted in childhood. The consequences of their reunion free Merry at last from the shackles of her artificial upbringing but starkly force her to face adulthood at last.
