About Coli

Coli Sylla, born in Philadelphia, PA in 1979, spent his formative years in Lome, Togo, West Africa. Holding a Master's Degree in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College, Sylla embarked on his professional journey with an internship at NBCUniversal in 2006.

During his time at NBCUniversal, Sylla's passion for storytelling led him to craft a compelling spec script for the NBC comedy "30 Rock." This achievement marked the beginning of his professional writing career, paving the way for his first major project, a single-camera comedy titled "Big Boy's Neighborhood," based on the nationally syndicated radio show of the same name. The pilot boasted a star-studded cast including Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, Wilmer Valderrama, and Jimmy Kimmel. Despite the production of the pilot, it unfortunately never made it to air.

Transitioning from comedy to drama, Sylla broadened his creative horizons by penning his first drama pilot, "Porter." This endeavor not only opened doors for him but also garnered recognition, leading to meetings with influential entities such as HBO, Showtime, CAA, Mosaic, and Fishbowl Worldwide Media. In 2022, "Porter" achieved the Grand Prize at the Creative Screenwriting Magazine TV Pilot Competition and secured a spot on the Coverfly Red list. In 2023, Sylla's second pilot, "The Informer," earned a finalist position in the LA International Diversity Initiative, and a shopping agreement for the project followed. His third pilot, "Afterlife," has consistently ranked high on the Coverfly Red List, currently holding the impressive #2 spot.

Despite his achievements in the world of television, Sylla wears multiple hats and currently serves as a Sales Support Consultant for Comcast NBCUniversal. Undeterred, he continues to participate in and excel at screenwriting competitions, steadfastly pursuing opportunities to propel his career to new heights.
