About Michael

Michael Stratigakis AKA Strat developed an artistic eye and instinct for storytelling at a very young age. This grew into a love for the cinematic arts in high school in South Houston where he helped start a video production class. After making several shorts including the memorable Shorty & the Snowman at the University of Texas at Austin, Strat relocated to Los Angeles, focusing mainly on post-production initially

Editing has played a big part in Michael's love of visual storytelling. As an editor, Michael has worked internationally in China and the UAE, cutting 4 feature films, 3 scripted series, ad content for SNAP, Honda, Panda Express, FCA Jeep, Staples, several award-winning short films, national theatrical movie promos, a blockbuster movie’s digital ad campaign, and more.

Strat's extensive editing experience lead him to return behind the camera and direct while continuing his post-production pursuits. He has directed several award-winning shorts, including “The Taste of Copper” which won "Best Sci-fi short" at the Burbank Film Festival. Strat has also ventured into the social video world directing branded content for organizations and companies including Nintendo, M&Ms, Absolut Vokda, Legendary Pictures, the LA Music Center, and the Television Academy (Emmys) as well as several digital series.

Through everything, Michael has been writing and striving to put words on the page that captivate, thrill, and delight audiences. His teleplay pilot for "Self Made" was awarded 2nd Round distinction at the world-renowned screenwriting competition at the Austin Film Festival. Strat has also written several feature screenplays and looks forward to lifting them from the page and into the world.

Unique traits: A knack for solving production problems, bringing the best out of performances on set and in post, sweating the details, remembering useless bar trivia facts and an encyclopedic knowledge of Star Trek.
