I’m Mellissa Flowerdew-Clarke – a produced playwright and published writer with a penchant for the macabre and a fascination with sexual psychology.
I have a BA Hons degree in Drama & an MA in Creative Writing from Loughborough University.
My writing is raw and confrontational, interlaced with a hint of dark humour. As a writer, I aim to worm my way into your brain and make you rethink your current behaviours. I am interested in base human urges and instinct, and the dangers of repression and the lack of moral fibre.
Versatility is key to me, though. I have also written, believe it or not, family-friendly musicals, comedic radio plays and non-fiction articles on subjects ranging from effective communication, through to retailing in Russia. As well as writing creatively, I have also worked as a freelance copywriter, specialising in online communication and brand awareness. I also direct, devise and have performed my whole life.
