About Yari

Becoming a world traveler at the age of 22, I experienced diverse cultural nuances that helped me to begin understanding the world in a new a personal way. Along with this and subsequent traveling experiences, I have gained a unique and global vision of how stories can be told from many different viewpoints.

I learned how to craft storylines, how to use film to capture the emotion and tactile energy of a story and I have worked very closely with a local production companies creating short films, music videos and feature length films, I have also worked with a local over the air television station producing , filming and editing a local television show and creating commercial content. I am currently one of three owners of SCY Pictures, an all Latina run and owned production company in Denver, CO. We hit the ground running and I've been enjoying the ride ever since. My company is making big strides in the industry for minority women and we have plans for community outreach and programs in the works.

I'm a producer, writer, director, cinematographer editor and motion graphics editor and I hope to use these skills to inspire young girls, grown women and storytellers of any and all genders and ages to step up and tell their stories to the world.
