About Randa
Randa Nassár is an independent writer, director and producer She tells stories about cross cultural conflicts in the Arab and Western World. Randa has written scenario's for the theatre, screen, and gives workshops in film making for Universities and organizations in both Lebanon and the Netherlands. Recently her written screenplay Monna's mosque was selected for The American Film Institute workshop in New York. As a producer she has been working on the Pan Arabic TV Show "Khawater" of the Channel MBC1. Her film "The Truth Within" won a third prize at the camera film festival in Rotterdam for Best Film in 2013 and is going to International film festivals right now. At this moment, Randa is producing, writing and directing her own short fiction films and she is writing on her first feature film "Entry denied" that was chosen by the script development program "Babylon" in London, UK.
Unique traits: The Truth Within was selected for The Short Film Corner Court Metrage at The Cannes International Film Festival 2014. Munira's Mosque was selected for the American Film Institute's women directors workshops in New York, commissioned by the Athena Film Festival. Her screenplay Entry denied was selected for the Voices of the Arab world screenplay contest.
