Matt Trappe

Matt’s passion lies in capturing the excitement and emotion of pushing one’s limits and exploring new places. Several years ago he turned his back on an otherwise successful career in biotechnology to pursue adventure photography and a more active lifestyle. Matt now produces commercial and editorial projects for numerous clients including TrailRunner, Outside, Pearl Izumi, Chaco, Nike, Buff and Clif Bar.

Matt is continually pushing the limits of how far, how fast and how steep. With camera in tow he accompanies elite athletes over the most rugged mountain ranges to shoot races, expeditions, advertising campaigns and video documentaries. He recently ran 140 miles through the Rocky Mountains to film a speed record on the Colorado Trail, photographed an attempt on a route called Nolan’s 14 which connects fourteen 14,000’ peaks and planned several commercial advertising shoots for major outdoor brands.
