My favorite cure for writer's block is a great idea. Without a mind-warping idea, you either settle for second best or end up dead in the water. When an idea really grabs you by the short hairs, you can't quit. For me, the pleasure of writing comes when I can't wait to get back to it.

Jaclyn Abergas

When I get writer's block, I do three things: I clean, I take a walk or I write some more. I find these three activities help clear my mind. If you're struggling with writer's block more often than yo...

Hey Ross, a few days ago we implemented a new privacy setting to give you the option of accepting private messages only from users within your network. Today, I discovered a bug with the way this option is set for new users. I just wanted to let you know that the bug is now fixed, so all members are now able to receive private messages from any other member (the default setting). If you'd like to receive private messages only from users within your network, you can change this setting here. Also, you can access your privacy settings at any time from the drop-down menu that appears when you hov...

One of the biggest boosts to my concentration and creativity came about when I eliminated the artificially sweetened drinks. I went from a blank page to a published book in six months. Please consider it seriously. This is an excellent blog. Thank you for giving us another enjoyable read.

Important writer health and safety tip. Will keep that in mind as I write and sip on a Diet Coke. Erp. Glad you like the blog, Phyllis.

Ginko Biloba seems help the flow for me. Great story Doug, but I think I like it because it reaffirms the theory that I often think about when I am working. And that is everyone feels the pressure whe...

More to come. Parts 3, 4, and 5 reveal the true reasons why I couldn't find the exit. Thanks, Ross.

I had to laugh at Cool Runnings in your Desert Island picks. I guess thats your keep hope alive film. Funny. But then again Jamaica is an island. So perhaps an excellent pick. lol

Stephen Melling

Well I thought I might need a good laugh and a cheer up if I was stuck on a desert island. Plus hours of entertainment would be provided trying to mimic the accent. Haha
