Logline: Modern Art meets the Harlem Renaissance at 291 Fifth Avenue where Hodge Kirnon, the elevator man finds the inspiration to create his masterpiece, “the Civil Rights Movement.”

SYNOPSIS:

Set in 1916, Hodge Kirnon, an immigrant from the West Indies tells the story of how Alfred Stieglitz and Georgia O'Keeffe found creative freedom and love in this time of pervasive intolerance. In turn, Kirnon finds the strength to fight for his rights and eventually lay the ground work for the early Civil Rights Movement. "291" follows the lives of these three people over a period one year. A year that proves to challenge their fears, bring about profound change and set them each on a path leading to their moment in time.
