SYNOPSIS:

After smallpox slaughtered a billion people in the previous century, World Health announced its eradication in 1979 -- an end to the most lethal and contagious disease in the history of mankind. Today its appearance outside heavily guarded labs is considered an act of bioterror. Only weeks before a Presidential election, ex-Special Forces warrior and ER doc Michael Robinson sees a dying man with smallpox in downtown LA. He calls CDC for help, but the guy mysteriously disappears before the FBI arrives to investigate. Despite his pleas for a manhunt, Michael's blown off -- publicly disparaged and threatened with prison if he talks to the press. When he later discovers the virus was bioengineered to be resistant to vaccination, he's thrust into a race against time to stop an apocalyptic attack on America.
