Sira Kiwana-Lugolobi

I have written two thriller scripts and am currently working on the sequels. The inspiration for writing both these works came from my years of work and study in the UK and North America where I experienced a ton of culture shock. This varied from social interactions to responding to the weather which never seemed to make up its mind. The experience continued, but in reverse, when I returned to my homeland in Africa where I had to ‘unlearn’ many aspects of life in the west. I have always wanted to see thrillers that had an international appeal and African content. Since they were not available, except for James Bond, once in a while, I decided to write my own.

The first one, titled ‘Chantal’s Personal Brexit’, is adapted from my published thriller novel titled ‘Ugandan Affairs’ . The logline is as follows:
‘With the extension of her job contracts contingent upon passing an Anger Management course, a violent London executive, renown for assaulting unfaithful European boyfriends, seduces a supposedly calm Ugandan diplomat, who wouldn't know her reputation, to use as therapy. Just as the relationship upgrades itself, her resolve is tested when the enemy from the diplomat’s child-soldier past comes marching in with blood on the agenda.’

The second script, titled’ The Leopard Doesn’t Change Its Spots’ has the logline:
‘A young Mexican cartel operative belatedly realises that she’s fallen for an African Prince from an oil rich Kingdom. Problem is that she’s just fulfilled a kidnap contract on him in London. Now she must do battle with both deadly sides of the law in her quest to find and rescue him before the deadline of the strangest of ransoms ever demanded, one that threatens a global economic reset.

If I was to write a blub for this work, it would probably read,
‘Coming to America’ gets ‘Taken’
