I'm Bill Johnson, a produced playwright, and many years ago I was office manager for a video production company. I bought a DLSR camera a while back and plan to shoot some short projects. I'm also office manager of Willamette Writers, a group with a conference in Portland in August that brings some Hollywood film people to town.
I might be able to help. I'll get back to you.

Expand commentHi Bill, I didn't hear back from the person I was thinking of who might be able to help you out. However, Chemeketa Community College in Salem offers Narrative Filmmaking (see below) from 6:00 PM to 9:50 PM on Tuesday evenings, beginning in September 2015. My son took the Documentary Filmmaking course. I believe the instructor lives in the Portland area. (Maybe he teaches courses there as well?) Go to the searchable schedule of classes at: http://www.chemeketa.edu/classes/ and search for FLM266. You will be able to email the instructor from the webpage. FLM266 Narrative Filmmaking 3 Credits Builds on the technical skills acquired in FLM265, Documentary Filmmaking, but focuses production work on narrative styles with emphasis on storyboarding and preparation, directing actors, and effective editing techniques. Prerequisite: FLM265 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Offered as needed.
Thanks. I'll look around for a class in Portland through PCC of Clackamas.

Since our launch in September of 2011, the community has grown to 200,000+ members strong spanning 180+ countries making Stage 32 the social network uniquely populated with the most creative people on Earth. This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members pay it forward and invite at least 5 fellow creatives and to spread the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. You can also invite fellow creatives through the site by using the "Send Stage 32 Invites..." button on the upper right side of your profile. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities. Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community.
