From a young age Cassie has been a writer, storyteller, and performer. A self-described geek, she always dreamed of being a professional writer and - once she discovered screenwriting in high school - it seemed her path was set. Her passions led her to earn her Bachelor's in English along with Minors in Writing and Film. She also studied screenwriting extensively outside of college. A student of Cynthia Whitcomb, Charles Deemer, and most recently Corey Mandell, she won 10th place in the 77th Annual Writer's Digest Writing competition.
Along the way she also fell in love with West Coast Swing dancing and is now a professional dancer and teacher. As a dancer she is unique in that she is equally advanced - and is an award winner - as both a lead and as a follow. This rare combination allows her an insight into dancing, performance, and human body mechanics that few ever experience. Because of this knowledge, students find her invaluable.
But something was missing. Her diverse yet specialized skillset left her with too many career paths. What to choose?
Then she discovered character animation:
- Advanced Knowledge of Body Mechanics...CHECK!
Suffice it to say, Cassie has found a fit for herself with character animation that feels like home. With character animation she can utilize all of her diverse skills to tell stories and create performances that resonate with and entertain audiences - which, as it turns out, has been her dream all along.
