A blind and mystical empathic psychologist, who cures patients by inviting them into her mind, must find a girl who was kidnapped by a comatose serial killer before his dark and powerful empathic powers turn the psychologist to murder.
SYNOPSIS:
Empathic psychologist, Dr. Isadora Kencil (Izzy), is tired. Day after day, patients seek her out to relieve their emotional pain. She doesn't know it yet, but she is trapped by her empathic ability. When Detective Harper comes knocking, she agrees to interrogate a comatose serial killer, Hugo Wriedt, to find out the identities of all of his victims.
As Izzy meets with Hugo's mind in her Meet Office (an exact replica of her real office), she finds Hugo to be much more than just a dock worker. His mind is an imposing and dangerous psyche for Izzy to access. What Izzy finds out is that Hugo has kidnapped a teenage girl and has locked her away in his "special place". Izzy must get Hugo to reveal where the girl is before the girl dies.
Izzy begins by psychologically analyzing Hugo. What she doesn't know at first becomes clear to her. Izzy would normally feel the girl's panic and despair, but she didn't. What Izzy finds out is that Hugo is also an Empath with extraordinary abilities, and he blocked Izzy from "feeling" the girl's emotions.
What also comes into focus for Izzy is Hugo is also interrogating and analyzing her. By the start of the third act, we realize that the early life choice Izzy made to help people, and the alternate choice Hugo made to kill people, stem from the same motive - to fill their respective emotional voids. While she confronts Hugo and his pathologies, he forces Izzy to confront her dark psyche.
