SERVANTS' ROW
By Kenya Branch

GENRE: Drama, Historical
LOGLINE:

On a plantation in the antebellum south, a taboo romance exacerbates tensions between the multicultural indentured servants and an increasingly tyrannical owner.

SYNOPSIS:

Servants' Row is set on a colonial North Carolina farm in 1649, just before the legal institution of slavery, where white, black and Native American indentured servants shared a similar social status and labored side-by-side in the fields.

After servant rebellions occur on neighboring farms and plantations, the fearful farm owner employs an unconscionably brutal overseer who becomes unbearably tyrannical.

Forged out of necessity and fueled by their mutual aspirations, the multi-racial servants band together, aided by free Native Americans, and flee the farm and battle a vengeful and violent mob of slave owners led by the overseer as they desperately fight for their freedom and land of their own.
