SYNOPSIS:

Baseball player on a downward spiral finds redemption on the polo fields of Saratoga Springs, New York in this madcap updated Preston Sturges style comedy. One of baseball’s fastest players, Eddy Jones, plays fast with rules of life and loses the game he loves. Eddy is on the sidelines for using performance enhancing human growth (PED) hormone. His penchant for gambling on horses puts him in further hot water with his bookie when it’s payback time. Eddy runs for his life in a hilarious foot chase through Manhattan to escape the clutches of the bookie’s heavy-handed thugs. He then catches the easiest bus out of town and finds himself in the middle of upper crust, upstate New York’s horse county. He first meets social climbing, Camille Hardwicke, who swoops in and saves Eddy from the dead on destruction of an impotent, angry bull.. Eddy is a fish out of water, but he moves seamlessly among the horsy set with urban street smarts. Camille is cuckolding her jazz pianist husband Simon by cozying to the Argentinean polo player Humberto. Camille introduces Eddy to her husband, Simon Hardwick, acclaimed jazz pianist, as an animal expert who can help the erectile dysfunction of his prized bull. Her conniving ways are only to drive Simon to an emotional breakdown and cash in on a rich prenuptial agreement. She sees Eddy as a useful tool. Simon hasn’t played a concert in some time due to a psychological disorder created by Camille’s adventure. Camille, however, first puts Eddy to work cleaning stables, as Eddy keeps an eye out for his angry bookie and friends. He climbs the social ladder quickly and moves from shoveling horse shit to solving the erectile dysfunctional prized bull with a witches brew concoction. Eddy also breaks a previously unbroken horse, Diablo, trumping Humberto and creating an enemy for life. Eddy meets Penny Lancaster, a top-notch polo player, who is kept off the polo team in favor or her less talented brother. Camille has the note on the adjoining Lancaster farm and decides to foreclose. This sets a divisive shift in the Eddy’s relationship with his evil employer. A forthcoming polo tournament with a substantial prize going to the top team would be a way for Penny to hold on to the family farm. She and Eddy start at team made of misfits. Eddy learns to ride and swing a polo club. Simon Hardwicke joins in against his wife and in a snobs versus slobs finale -- the slobs (Penny, Eddy, Simon and brother Geoffrey and others) win against all odds. They save the farm. Simon’s resolves his psychological disorder by getting rid of Camille. Camille gets her karmic comeuppance when Humberto dumps her. And, Eddy gets his self-respect back and plays baseball again
