About Aaron

With a zest for the best sound, DJ Mr-Doc launched himself into the music world ears first. Being born in Boston but musically raised in Detroit, there is no wonder that soul is the backdrop for Doc's musical evolution. Doc grew up on House music and that became his focus upon moving to Chicago. Doc had the opportunity to play at some of the Mecca of House music's historic clubs including the Mad Bar, Get me High, Martini Ranch, Fifth Floor and others. Also production started to take a forefront. With a studio space in the famous Music Garage, Doc was able to gain experience working with other artists and live bands.
Doc's Debut album, Exhale Euphoria is a homage to the everlasting search for that sound. "There is no one genre that can hold me hostage," exclaims the hyperactive producer. That is evident in his recent releases, for example, the track that was chosen for the first volume of the Roy Ayers Project compilation. "I knew that most of the music that was submitted was of the hip hop nature so I wanted to give something different." Doc's house cut "Memphis" made it onto the compilation. Doc sees music as a feeling of sound not specific to beats-per-minute, but the feeling he gets from the production and the audience.
The future is bright for Doc, with other compilation entries including "The Return of the Tec: The Beatnuts Beat Tape", and the TrueSchool Collective beat tape that were released last year. Doc currently is working on several movie soundtracks along with several guest releases from various labels. He has also put together a live show that showcases his performance skills, not just two turntables.
