In far away land of the late 80's I graduated from KD Studio Dallas, Texas with an Associate Degree in Performing Arts. At the time KD Studio was and still is a prestigious acting school. After graduating I got an agent and was sent out on many auditions, was an extra in several films, did a few commercials one very frightening one for Crime Stoppers where I held the real gun that was used in an attempted murder case. Then I found out my "agent" was a little shady so I started looking around and in the meantime while I was "looking around" I was out at Las Colinas where I was yet another extra on "Dallas" and as I was walking around on a "break" I happened upon a writing group and decided to visit, later went there and continued to go there every week, then one week they sponsored a contest we had to write a treatment and I won first place the prize $100 and a briefcase. Then I was invited to join another writing group and went to a writing group every Friday night I learned that the gentleman that sponsored the group had worked for MGM as a script supervisor for years and had a literary agency then one evening I was invited to the Melrose Hotel at the time a very posh hotel in Dallas for a surprise didn't know what it was so when I got there I was so surprised to see actors I knew performing a few pages of the script we had written as a group from the Friday night writing group and from the contest that I won. It was my 15 minutes of fame....there is nothing that can take one higher than seeing your work performed by people you know I was in another world on a different planet and then I faded out for over 20 years I worked in a hospital and heard so many stories and wrote them all down . Then I became a caregiver to my mother who was in the middle stages of the dreaded A word and I kept a journal of that a horrible story. Then I became a caregiver again watching the descent of a human beings life and one day after my person passed away I found this site and I thought why not. Its been a year now I have been watching studying and wondering should I? I know what it takes been there done that long ago so today I am stepping in the water, riding the waves and hope I land safely on the shore and if I don't at least I rode the wave........
