When a broke boomer couple, Wayne and Marsha, are fearful of losing their home, they see a million dollar reward on tv for a drug cartel head.

They have seen lots of episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunter and Burn Notice , and think- what the hell. It should work. All of their reality tv watching kicks in.

They make a plan to go to Mexico with the couple next door, equally broke, to capture El Perrito Blanco, aka Reuben Torta, for the ransom .

But they don't know that Reuben has secrets. He isn't what he appears to be.

The two boomer women Marsha and Jill, go to an adult store. They have fun looking around and buy some soft rope and pink furry handcuffs.

Their plan seems to be going right, but things start to get precarious when their Gen X son Matt and Granny Louise, retired nurse and always obnoxious mother-in-law, show up. The two insist on going too, "to protect those fools. "

A scenic bus trip to Mexico is had by all, while trying to be unobtrusive tourists.

Once in Mexico, they all regroup. The two women try to get chloroform to subdue cartel head's brother with, cant buy it . They steal it. and are chased by the local cops. They need to hide out for a while.

Capitan Rodriquez of the Federales, tries to discourage them, after learning about their plans.

The guys and Granny Louise cruise bars looking for a hang out for Javier, brother of El Perrito.

They locate him and start a bar fight, using their reality tv skills, as a distractlon, then kidnap Javier.

Javi's bodyguards spot this and a fast car chase starts, with hails of bullets, and ends with a wrecked rented van. He escapes.

The run of the mill gang has no plan now. No hope. Still in mexico. Still broke.

Then someone remembers something on tv about Reuben being fixated on/ scared of zombies.

New plan. Gang dresses up like zombies using the girl's makeup and dirt off the road.

The capture of El Perrito is imminent, when professional mercenaries dressed as ninjas, break in. They want the reward, too.

But, they dont plan on Murphy's Law kicking in, or know that Granny Louise is as proficient with firearms as anyone. Reuben, Javi and the gang fight off the mercenaries and are victorious.

The gang leaves Mexico wealthy. The boomers are are happy back on their boat, which they can now afford. Matt has a bar.

Reuben makes a new start in life. He is seen singing opera badly on tv ,in Venezuela (no extradition) at his opera camp for kids. The Kids have fingers in ears.

Granny Louise takes a cruise, and plans to overthrow Castro, as she never liked him anyway.

Battle of the generations and relations continues in some form, but everyone now knows he can do more than he ever thought he could.. Each also realizes the value of family working together.

Think Little Miss Sunshine meets From Dusk Til Dawn without Vampires. Not to rule out fake zombies.
