John Alarid is a two-time Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, and three-time Golden Mike recipient, for my work as a Writer, Editor and Content Producer for NBC Universal. He’s written several screenplays that have placed in various film competitions, including the thriller “A Kodak Moment” which won Best Feature at the Moondance Film Festival.
As a broadcast news journalist, Alarid has covered a wide range of stories: the O.J. Simpson trial, drive-by shootings, bar brawls, witch cults, satanic ceremonies, and cattle mutilations. He’s chased tornadoes and UFOs in the Texas Panhandle. He’s edited image campaigns, news topical promos, and of course, stories for KNBC’s newscasts, most recently as a Content Producer.
Shortly after celebrating a 35-year milestone with NBC, Alarid decided it was time to call it a career at KNBC. He’s now a screenwriter. He’s currently tweaking and reworking a romantic comedy titled THE ROAD TO SHAMBALA with his writing partner, Jonathan Peterson, for Producer Brian Avery from the Yari Film Group.
THE ROAD TO SHAMBALA is a rock ‘n’ rolling romantic comedy.
Through an accidental twist in fate, a hapless wannabe American musician becomes an overnight sensation in China. A rock ‘n’ rolling romantic comedy about the second chances of life, where dreams can still be achieved and love is truly an international language.
Alarid’s other project include:

MIRACLE MAN is a superhero action spec about a marine chopper pilot with supernatural powers turned specialized CIA assassin who must expose his group’s treachery.
SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL – A heart-pounding supernatural action spec about a journalist who discovers that Hell has infiltrated the White House. She finds herself in the middle of an epic battle between an alien race and Lucifer’s minions.
KODAK MOMENT – TV PILOT – Nick and Nora. Mulder and Scully. The Doctor and Rose. Introducing Wright and Wong. Adventure and mystery has a new name.
When a vintage camera is accidentally found at a garage sale, long buried secrets about the JFK assassination stands to be reborn.
