About Jay

Jay Stern directs and produces film and theater. Recent productions include the feature film "Say My Name," which is currently on the festival circuit, and the theater production "The Worth of Women," an original play based on a book written by Moderate Fonte in 1600. Previous work of note include "The Bardy Bunch: The War of the Families Partridge and Brady" off Broadway and at the Mercury Theater in Chicago, and his feature film "The Adventures of Paul and Marian."

Jay is a founder, producer, and co-host of the Iron Mule Short Comedy Film Festival, which has been screening monthly since April, 2002.

Jay is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and a founder of the WorldWide Lab, an international festival of director-driven work developed at the Watermill Center, which had its inaugural presentation in New York City in the summer of 2012. With the Lab, Jay co-created the new play "Alien Attack!" at Teatro Due in Rome, Italy in 2014, and "Love is a Cancer" at the Apollo Theater on Syros, Greece in 2015.
