Richard Blades

I am a stopmotion animator and film maker from Birmingham, England. I have a studio in the Jewellery Quarter where I work on commissions and my own short films.

I completed a Degree in Visual Communication at Birmingham City University with a specialism in Stopmotion Animation. After a short break I gained a Masters in Animation at Newport University and became Newport's first student to obtain a Masters in Fine Art for Animation.

I have since participated as one of the first students to complete the Transform@lab a European training course studying Multi Platform Development at Newport, Gobelins in Paris and Mome in Budapest.
